In Tarot there are no right or wrong ways to spread the cards for your reading. Most Tarot readers develop their own spreads depending on the type of Tarot reading they wish to perform.

The Tarot Spreads I prefer to use are: the 3 card, 5 point cross, 9 card, 11 card, Celtic Cross and Rainbow spreads.

The 3 card spread is used specifically to gain the answer to a question.

The 5 point cross is used to foretell the recipients strengths, weaknesses, past, present and future.

The 9 card spread is used to answer a question that will only have the answers 'yes', 'no' or 'maybe'.

The Celtic Cross gives one overall reading looking at past, present and future events.

The Rainbow spread is used when a more detailed reading is required.
